Ladies' Meeting
Tuesday 2:00 PM (Term time only)
All Ladies Welcome...
We meet at 2pm for an informal chat and drink.
At 2:30pm, we gather to study God's word for an hour. The first Tuesday of the month is given to a time of prayer.
We were encouraged in James recently, among other lessons, to submit to Christ, to be wise about wealth, and to make sure we speak the truth. We learnt about the value of humility, warnings against slander and gossip, and not to judge one another. The purpose behind James writing the letter is to test the readers to see if we are true believers. The study, or rather God, pointed out errors/sins in our lives as we went through it. Our response was to hear, obey in repentance where necessary, and hopefully to Grow as a Christian – or as James puts it ‘to become mature and complete, not lacking anything’.
We have studied the books of Ruth and Esther (March to July 2024). In Ruth, we saw the blessing God has for those who don’t know it! How He moves to accomplish His ways. And for believers, how do we respond to backsliders? How should we respond to hard times? Do we curse God and die? Or Bless him for the unnumbered blessings that we will experience through it!
In Esther it was great to see God’s faithfulness to his people when they were in exile. We were reminded that we too are in exile, this world is not our own and God knows perfectly what it will take to get us home to the place He has prepared for us. It is His Story of salvation, and ours too.
In October 2024 we started a study in the books of 1 and 2 Thessalonians.
